It’s a fact that I take loads and loads of selfies – many of which you can find on Twitter or Instagram. I really enjoy taking pictures of myself and playing around with lighting, so when Cotton Bag Co released The Selfie Bag, which is a bag that is designed for people who enjoy taking selfies and manipulating light. The bag itself is a canvas bag that’s quite thick – not flimsy at all, and comes in two styles; natural or black and gold. I’ve been into the black and gold theme for quite some time, themeing my work area around black and gold, so that’s the bag I picked.
This bag contains a bunch of pockets, all with their purposes to help you take good selfies. One is the perfect size for a selfie stick, which is handy as those are long and can find their way to the bottom of a bag easily and another pocket that’s perfect for a smart phone. The main cavity of the bag is big and can hold all of your other items that you want to take out, making this a very good on the go bag. The Selfie Bag normally comes with a guide on how to use the bag the best, which I did not receive as I had been sent one before they went up for sale, but I got to play around with the bag itself and figure out my own best ways to use it.
The main feature of The Selfie Bag that makes it completely stand out from other bags is the reflective panel insert. Inside each bag is a reflective panel that you can fold out – it doesn’t have the reflective side inside the bag, as to not get mucky or damaged – and then use it to manipulate light to get different effects or just some natural lighting on your skin.
The reflective panel can make neat water effects or halo effects on your skin, if you’re interested in that sort of thing, or just angle light in a way that’s more flattering. I’ve played around a bit with The Selfie Bag and included my light experiments below!
I look forward to going out in the future and being able to take my Selfie Bag with me, so that I can arrange manipulate light in more than just my backyard. I feel that the price tag is very reasonable for this bag and that it is a great for those who like taking pictures and going out!
This is a really cool product! When I saw the title of this post, I was so curious, I just had to click, and it actually looks really cool. I’m an actor, and when submitting to film projects, casting directors often want selfies to see exactly how you look right now. So taking the perfect selfie is crucial! Will definitely consider buying, thanks!

This is a really interesting product! I don’t take selfies because I’m too self conscious. 🤷♀️ I tried to but it isn’t easy for me. I’m glad they have this bag to make it more fun for the people who are less shy. 🥰 Maybe I will get there some day.
Aww, It’s perfectly fine to be too self conscious – I was for ages, but started taking selfies that I never posted or did anything with and learned angles and lighting, which ended up making me like my face a whole lot more.
This is such a great product! It would be really useful if you wanted to take some selfies for your blog and you could have great fun playing about with it to make sure they are perfect! It would also be great for duller days when the light may not be as good so being able to manipulate it would mean getting better selfies!
